A few days ago i attended a lecture that was located in the Student Center here at Southern IL University. This lecture included a few different people reading books that they have written out loud to the audience. Lectures just like this or even completely different are often held in the student center and I find them to be interesting. Not only are they fun to go to for your own pleasure, but teachers often offer extra credit for going to them. This is yet just another event that is free and offered here at the SIU campus. Keep your eyes and ears open and they will pop up at random places.
Ya some of the free lectures are great actually make school feel kinda fun, theres a lot of visiting artists that give lectures and workshops in the art department, even though this kinda stuff doesnt give us a grade its still a great learning experience, as nerdy as that sounds...
